€20m · Debt · Fintech · Vilnius, Lithuania
Finbee Verslui, a Vilnius-based lender to small and medium-sized businesses, has secured an additional €20m senior secured credit facility from Pollen Street Capital, taking the existing line from €35m to €55m. The company says the extra lending capacity will support larger working-capital loans for Lithuanian businesses.
This is an increase to a facility first announced in July 2024, not a new €55m equity round. Pollen Street is supplying capital that Finbee can deploy into customer loans.
A larger facility moves Finbee up the SME ticket range
Finbee combines a digital application process with its own credit models to assess Lithuanian businesses. The expanded facility will let it raise the maximum loan from €250,000 to €800,000, offer longer terms and improve pricing, according to Vestbee’s original reporting. That changes the range of customers and financing needs the lender can address: a company that has outgrown a small short-term advance can now seek materially more working capital through the same platform.
For a lender, this kind of facility is operating capacity rather than unrestricted corporate cash. Growth depends on turning the line into performing loans and recycling repayments without letting credit losses erode the economics. In the distributed announcement, Pollen Street investment director Paul Varty pointed to Finbee’s disciplined lending and granular loan book when explaining the increase, making portfolio performance central to the continuing funding relationship.
The timing matches a tougher backdrop for smaller borrowers. The European Central Bank’s second-quarter 2026 survey found that a net 43% of SMEs reported higher bank-loan interest rates, while the SME bank-loan financing gap widened to 5%. Finbee’s faster digital process does not remove credit risk, but the larger institutional line gives it more room to compete where bank appetite and loan speed do not meet a business’s working-capital needs.
Repeat funding follows a larger loan book
Finbee Verslui says it has originated more than €180m through over 6,000 loans to more than 4,000 businesses since launching in 2017, including more than €40m in 2025. The previous €35m Pollen Street facility had already shifted much of its business lending away from crowdfunding, according to Finbee’s 2024 announcement. Adding €20m now extends that model and raises the commercial test: whether Finbee can serve larger borrowers while preserving the credit discipline that brought the lender back.
