Solomeo-based Solomei AI has entered into an agreement for an undisclosed investment from Salesforce Ventures to develop and commercialise Callimacus, its AI platform for dynamically composed websites and applications. The company announcement says the capital will expand engineering and AI research, accelerate product development and support commercial growth in Europe and North America. Completion was subject to Italy's golden-power authorisation and other closing conditions.
A live interface sits above the existing commerce stack
Callimacus is designed to replace fixed menus and predetermined page paths with an interface assembled around each visitor's intent. The product site says specialised agents import a brand's approved content, organise it into a knowledge base, interpret questions and interactions, and stream interface blocks to the front end. It connects to sources including Salesforce, Shopify, a CMS or an API while leaving the underlying catalogue, inventory and payment systems in place.
That architecture makes deployment the commercial mechanism. A retailer can add a personalised experience layer without replacing every operational system beneath it, while Callimacus can sell the same orchestration model across different commerce stacks. The difficult part is proving that real-time composition improves outcomes consistently: every generated path must preserve brand controls, privacy and factual accuracy, and the platform still has to integrate cleanly with each customer's content and transaction systems.
Salesforce brings a potential distribution and data-system complement. Its CRM and commerce products hold customer and business context, while Callimacus controls how information is assembled at the interface. Corriere reported that no integration with Agentforce, Commerce Cloud or another Salesforce product had been announced, so the strategic fit should not be presented as a shipped product connection.
The first deployment establishes a test case
Callimacus debuted in January 2026 on Brunello Cucinelli's e-commerce site after more than three years of development. The fashion group's half-year report said visitors spent significantly more time on the new experience and linked that engagement to digital-sales growth, but it did not disclose conversion or order data. The deployment therefore shows that the technology can operate on a live luxury storefront, while leaving its incremental commercial impact to be demonstrated.
Salesforce Ventures joins the founders and seed shareholders, including Cucinelli family holding company Foro delle Arti. The investment gives Solomei AI a strategic shareholder as it moves from a showcase deployment toward customers in other sectors. The next meaningful evidence will be repeatable third-party rollouts and measurable improvements in discovery or conversion, rather than interest in the concept alone.
