€4.2m · Other round · Transportation · Munich, Germany
Munich-based Aampere, which runs a digital resale platform for used electric cars, has raised €4.2m in a late-seed round led by Trind Ventures. Vend Marketplaces joined as a minority investor, G-FUND invested for the first time, and existing investors around GIMIC and automotive business angels also participated. The company says the capital will fund new seller-acquisition channels and partnerships, a wider dealer network and entry into additional European markets.
Aampere was founded in 2022 by Florian Reister, Niko Schmidt and Maximilian Rost. Its product replaces a conventional vehicle listing with a managed transaction: private and commercial sellers submit vehicle and condition details, a Europe-wide dealer auction establishes the highest bid, and Aampere makes the seller a purchase offer. If the seller accepts, Aampere handles payment and home collection.
Cross-border auctions can turn inventory imbalance into liquidity
A used EV may attract different demand and pricing in different national markets. Aampere's proposition is to aggregate that demand rather than leave a seller dependent on nearby dealers. Its site says the company is the seller's contracting party and earns the spread between the winning dealer bid and the offer it makes to the seller, so its revenue depends on completing a transaction rather than charging the seller to list.
That structure makes dealer depth commercially important. More active buyers can improve the chance of a competitive bid and help move vehicles toward markets where a particular model is wanted. The same cross-border reach also adds operational work: vehicle condition data has to be credible, payment must clear before collection, and logistics must remain predictable across countries. The funding is therefore aimed at both sides of the marketplace rather than expansion in name alone.
At the announcement, Aampere said it was selling several thousand electric vehicles a year, had quadrupled revenue over the previous 12 months and had grown to more than 25 employees. Those are company-reported figures, but they explain why Trind increased its stake after leading Aampere's €1.6m round in October 2025.
Marketplace experience joins the cap table
Vend Marketplaces operates Nordic marketplaces including FINN.no, Blocket and Bilbasen. Its investment gives Aampere a shareholder familiar with automotive marketplace distribution, although neither company announced a commercial integration. The useful test will be whether Aampere can turn wider seller acquisition and dealer coverage into more completed transactions while preserving price quality and transaction reliability.
