£1.65m · Pre-Seed · Edtech · London, UK
AcademyAI, a London platform for assessing and developing employees' practical AI skills, has raised an oversubscribed £1.65m pre-seed round, according to Tech.eu. Nexus Family Office and Panthera Family Office were among the investors. AcademyAI tests capabilities such as judgement, prompting and evaluating AI-generated output, then assigns short training tailored to a person's role and gives managers dashboards to track progress. The company says the funding will support further product development and expansion as organisations increase their use of workplace AI tools.
Measurement turns training into a management loop
Most corporate training records participation rather than whether behaviour changed. AcademyAI starts with an assessment, uses the result to assign role-specific modules and then gives managers a view of capability across teams. Repeating that loop could help an employer direct training towards specific gaps instead of offering the same course to everyone.
The harder question is whether the score predicts better work. AcademyAI says its framework draws on Alan Turing Institute methodology and covers six capabilities, but it has not disclosed independent validation showing that higher scores lead to safer, faster or more valuable outcomes. For a product that sells proof to leadership teams, evidence connecting assessment results to workplace performance will matter as much as completion rates.

Date note: 15 September 2026 is the dated Tech.eu public-reporting fallback. An earlier founder disclosure indicates the financing predates that report, so this article does not treat the date as the round's closing date.
