€150k · Pre-Seed · AI · Rome, Italy
Rome-based Ardeevo, an AI-native regulatory service for medical-device companies, has raised €150k in pre-seed funding from ZNEXT, which is also joining the company as a co-founder. The 5 October announcement says the venture builder will provide continuing operational support and access to the Zanichelli group’s expertise and network alongside the capital.
Turning regulatory work into a scoped service
Ardeevo is aimed at startups and small and medium-sized manufacturers preparing medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics for the European market. Its Clark assistant gathers information through a guided interview; a system of AI agents then consults a regulatory knowledge base, drafts sections of the technical file, links statements to their regulatory references and checks the dossier for consistency. The company says every deliverable is reviewed by a regulatory expert before release. Ardeevo’s product material describes services spanning regulatory planning, technical-file readiness and lifecycle compliance.
The commercial model matters as much as the automation. Ardeevo plans to charge fixed prices by device-risk class, set defined delivery times and tie payments to milestones, instead of selling open-ended consulting hours, according to Startupbusiness. That can make a difficult budget line more predictable for a young manufacturer, while leaving the legal boundary intact: the manufacturer remains responsible for the technical documentation, and the notified body still makes the conformity assessment.
This means the product is not simply document generation. Its value depends on producing traceable, internally consistent work that an expert can review efficiently and a manufacturer can carry into a regulated process. The human review is therefore part of the service’s trust layer, not a temporary workaround. If Clark reduces repetitive drafting without weakening that control, Ardeevo can use software-like workflows while selling an accountable regulatory outcome.
The first test is controlled delivery
Ardeevo was founded in 2026 by CEO Giovanni Stracquadaneo, whose background includes healthcare innovation and regulatory work, and CTO Alessandro Santopaolo, an AI and automation researcher. The company plans to activate services in phases for selected beta customers, initially targeting intermediate-risk devices under MDR classes IIa and IIb and IVDR classes B and C, with the full service range planned for 2027, its official press kit says.
At this stage, €150k is better understood as venture-building capital for proving the delivery system than as expansion financing. ZNEXT’s co-founder role gives Ardeevo operating support as it tests how much expert capacity each engagement requires. The execution question is whether fixed-price milestones and mandatory review remain economical as the number and complexity of customer dossiers grow.
