$100m · Series C · Cybersecurity · Tallinn, Estonia
According to its funding announcement, Blackwall has raised a $100m Series C at a $2.2bn valuation, with AVP leading and existing investors Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures and Tera Ventures participating. The Tallinn-based company said the capital will support global expansion and a broader suite of web-traffic management tools for hosting companies, cloud providers and managed service providers.
Hosting providers want to own the traffic-control layer
Blackwall does not primarily sell security software one website at a time. Its channel model gives infrastructure providers configurable and white-label tools that they can package, price and support for their own customers. Blackwall shares in the resulting revenue, while the provider keeps the customer relationship and adds a security product without building the underlying detection stack.
That distribution choice matters as automated traffic becomes harder to classify. Website operators need to stop abusive bots and scraping without excluding legitimate crawlers or emerging AI agents that may deliver customers. Blackwall offers a free visibility layer to show providers what is reaching their networks, then charges for protection and related controls. Its own site says the platform now supports millions of websites and applications.
The model gives Blackwall access to large installed customer bases through a relatively small number of partners. It also gives hosting providers a way to turn security from a support cost into a product line. The trade-off is execution through the channel: adoption, correct classification and response quality must remain dependable across many providers and very different traffic profiles.
The round funds a broader traffic-management stack
The company plans to expand across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, while adding products around certificates, distributed denial-of-service defence, threat intelligence and traffic routing. That points to a larger ambition than blocking malicious bots: Blackwall wants its partners to manage who and what can reach customer sites, and on what terms, from one infrastructure layer.
The $2.2bn figure is the company's valuation, not the size of the financing. The round itself is $100m. The commercial test will be whether Blackwall can extend its partner-led distribution into those adjacent controls without making the platform harder for hosting providers to operate or resell.
