£300k · Other round · Software · Altrincham, UK
BrowsAble has secured £300k in matched public and private funding: a £150k Innovate UK grant and a £150k investment from Entrepreneurs Helping Entrepreneurs Group. The Altrincham startup is preparing its web-accessibility product for a planned 2027 launch.
Reformatting the web around the user
BrowsAble uses AI to classify and reorganise web content into a simpler layout for people with visual impairments, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities or age-related cognitive changes. The company plans a browser extension for individuals and an installable tool that lets organisations offer an accessible version of their sites.
The approach differs from asking every user to learn each site’s navigation or every organisation to rebuild an interface separately. BrowsAble aims to create a consistent layer across different websites, with the service free to users and website operators paying.
Accessibility needs accuracy as well as simplicity
The funding will support product engineering, testing, marketing and commercial preparation. EHE Venture Studio has also worked with founder Peter Wrenshall on engineering and product development.
The core test is whether simplification preserves meaning and function. Banking, government and healthcare sites contain forms, warnings and transactional steps that cannot be dropped or rearranged carelessly. BrowsAble will need strong testing with disabled and neurodivergent users, compatibility across changing websites, and clear controls over what the software modifies. If it can make complex services easier without breaking them, accessibility becomes a measurable part of customer conversion and service delivery rather than a static compliance feature.
