$34m · Other round · Fintech · London, UK
London-based CellPoint Digital has secured a $34m investment from Toscafund, managed by its private-equity affiliate Penta Capital. The company also appointed Kevin Murphy as group CEO and Michael Kelly as chairman.
The financing will support Zenith, an AI decisioning layer for airline and hospitality payments that can sit above CellPoint's own or third-party payment orchestration. CellPoint says Zenith will use payment data to improve approval rates, reduce transaction costs and recover revenue without requiring customers to replace their existing payments stack. The investment will also fund 50 roles across product, data, AI, sales and partnerships in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Turning payment data into operating decisions
Payment orchestration connects merchants with processors and methods; CellPoint is trying to add a decision layer that continuously chooses how transactions should be handled. For airlines and hotels, small gains in approval rates or processing costs can have a material effect at global transaction volumes.
The investment pairs capital with a leadership reset and a sharper product mandate. CellPoint already has payment integrations and customer data, but Zenith must prove that its automated recommendations deliver measurable gains across varied markets and providers. Execution will depend on data quality, transparent decisions and adoption without disruptive migrations.
