€2.9m · Seed · Software · Naples, Italy
Naples-based infrastructure software company Clastix has raised €2.9m in seed funding, its first external financing. CDP Venture Capital led the round, with Mistral and Vertis SGR participating through the Vertis Venture 6 Digital Sud fund.
Clastix builds tools for operating Kubernetes at scale. Kamaji, its Apache 2.0-licensed open-source project, provides hosted control planes, while kMetal adds commercial fleet management, governance and production operations. The company will use the funding for product development, customer success, solutions engineering, go-to-market expansion and team growth.
Open source creates the route into larger deployments
Kamaji lets infrastructure teams test and run the underlying architecture without adopting a proprietary platform first. kMetal can then monetise the operational layer that becomes more valuable as the number of clusters grows: automation, governance and coordinated fleet management.
Mistral's role as both investor and user gives Clastix a demanding reference customer for that transition. Mistral says the technology supports its training and inference clusters, so the commercial test is whether Clastix can turn that technical validation into repeatable deployments beyond customers that already have unusually sophisticated infrastructure teams.
