$20m · Series B · Software · London, UK
London-based CloudNC has raised $20m in new investment capital to expand its AI software for precision machining. The round was led by Nimble Ventures, with participation from Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First and LM Ventures, Lockheed Martin's venture capital fund. Tech.eu classifies the financing as Series B, while TechCrunch describes it as an extension to the company's 2022 Series B.
CloudNC's CAM Assist product automates the first-pass work involved in programming computer numerical control machines. It selects tools, approach directions, feeds and speeds, then drafts the code that tells a machine how to cut a component; a machinist or CAM programmer reviews, edits and approves the result. The company says more than 1,000 machine shops use the software globally, including hundreds in the US, and names Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine as customers. TechCrunch reports that 80% of CloudNC's customer base is in the US.
The commercial wedge starts before a machine runs
CAM Assist targets the programming step between a digital part design and production. That is a useful commercial wedge because the software can sit inside existing CAM workflows and reduce repetitive preparation without asking a shop to hand final machining judgement to an autonomous system. Adoption still depends on producing reliable strategies across different parts, materials and machine setups, but human review narrows the operational leap customers must make.
The financing will support wider adoption of CAM Assist, go-to-market, customer support and partner activity across existing and new markets. It will also fund Quote Agent, an AI product planned for later in 2026 that is intended to help shops assess jobs and prepare estimates. Quoting sits earlier in the workflow: a slow response can lose an order, while an inaccurate estimate can erode margin after production begins.
Putting programming and quoting tools alongside each other could expand CloudNC from a point solution into a broader operating layer for machine-shop decisions. The test is commercial as much as technical. CloudNC must turn use across more than 1,000 shops into repeatable distribution and support, while proving Quote Agent can estimate cost and risk consistently enough to improve bid speed without weakening pricing discipline.
