London-headquartered Comparables.ai has raised $6m in Seed funding to expand its market-intelligence platform for corporate development, private equity, M&A advisory and investment-banking teams. Tech.eu reports that Pragmatech and Araya Ventures led the round, with Purple Ventures, Gorilla Capital, hi5 Ventures, Somersault Ventures and other investors participating. The company says the capital will support rollouts across additional markets and further development of its AI engine.
The platform brings company financials, ownership structures, valuation data, M&A transactions and verified contacts into one search and analysis product. Comparables.ai says its dataset covers more than 370 million active companies across over 110 countries, while its tools screen markets, build target and buyer lists and answer repeated questions across a shortlist. The aim is to replace the early-stage work of combining registries, databases and spreadsheets before a deal team can exercise judgement.
Search quality is the product
Traditional industry codes are useful for reporting, but they can group millions of very different businesses together. Comparables.ai's product instead reads company descriptions, filings and registries to generate narrower market segments and relevance scores. A deal team can start with a mandate, reduce a global universe to plausible candidates and then inspect the reasoning behind each match.
That changes the commercial value from access to data into the quality of the filter. Finding a company that a static code misses can improve a sourcing process; flooding an analyst with weak matches merely moves the manual work downstream. Comparables.ai therefore has to balance breadth with evidence users can defend in an investment committee or client discussion. Its product pages say the AI Analyst returns sourced answers, while its data overview says financial and ownership information is refreshed daily or monthly depending on the source.
Enterprise expansion raises the trust requirement
The company says more than 50,000 professionals in over 30 countries use the platform, and that one Big Four advisory firm is extending deployment to more than ten countries. Those are company-reported figures carried by Tech.eu, not independently audited metrics. They nonetheless point to a distribution model in which an initial research workflow can expand across offices once the data and search behaviour prove reusable.
Comparables.ai reported 35,000 users and coverage of 360 million companies at the end of 2024. The current figures suggest both the audience and dataset have grown, but scale makes data quality more consequential: a wrong ownership link, stale financial or opaque relevance score can travel through many decisions. The Seed round funds a larger footprint and a stronger AI engine; the execution test is whether the product can preserve traceability and search precision as customers apply it across more markets and deal types.
