$11m · Seed · Product compliance software · Copenhagen, Denmark
Complir, a Copenhagen-based platform helping retailers and brands manage product-compliance work, has raised $11m in seed funding led by General Catalyst. Vendep Capital, True, Liquid2, SV Angel, Ritual Capital, Founders Future, Gharage, Robinhood Ventures and Y Combinator also participated. The company says it will expand regulatory coverage, grow across Europe and hire engineers, compliance specialists, designers and go-to-market staff.
Compliance software wins by making evidence reusable
Product compliance becomes harder as retailers add markets, suppliers and product categories: each change multiplies the regulations, documents and checks that must be reconciled before launch. Complir's wager is that classifying products and grounding AI in the retailer's own records can turn that fragmented work into a repeatable operating workflow, rather than another generic chatbot.
The commercial leverage comes from shortening clearance without weakening evidence. If Complir can connect cleanly to product and supplier systems, customers can reuse verified data across launches and jurisdictions, making the software more valuable as their catalogue grows. That creates a distribution challenge too: regulatory coverage and integrations must expand together, so the round is partly financing the breadth required to win multinational accounts.
