€6.4m · Other round · Fintech · Berlin, Germany
Berlin-based Conlio has raised €6.4m in a funding round led by Piton Capital. Haufe Group Ventures, WaVe-X and F-LOG Ventures participated, while existing investors System. One, Puzzle Ventures, Booom Ventures and Yellow also joined. The company is putting the capital into technology, hiring, sales and expansion across Europe.
Turning freight paperwork into payment decisions
Conlio builds financial-operations software for road-freight forwarders. Its platform reads carrier invoices, CMR consignment notes, proofs of delivery, pallet records and damage reports, then checks those documents against transport orders and agreed rates. Clean cases can move towards payment automatically; discrepancies such as a missing confirmation, an unmatched pallet count or an unagreed surcharge are routed to staff for review.
The commercial value is tied directly to a forwarder’s margin and working capital. Manual checks become more expensive as shipment volume grows, while errors can produce both carrier overpayments and missed charges to shippers. Conlio’s software connects to customers’ transport-management and accounting systems, allowing it to automate the verification layer without asking a forwarder to replace the systems that run its operation.
The scaling test is exception quality
F-LOG Ventures says Conlio automated more than 90% of document checks in early deployments and signed ten paying customers in Germany, the UK, Spain and Denmark during its first ten months of selling. Those are investor-reported figures, but they point to a measurable adoption test: customers should be able to compare software cost with finance-team workload, prevented overpayments, recovered revenue and faster settlement.
The harder part sits in the remaining exceptions. Freight documents arrive in different formats and languages, often as scans or photographs with handwriting, stamps and signatures. The platform must identify genuine discrepancies without creating another queue of false alerts, and each customer brings its own rates, surcharges and approval rules. Conlio’s founder and chief executive, Claudio Consul, previously led product work at digital freight forwarder Sennder, giving the team direct experience of that operational complexity.
The funding also brings industry-linked investors into the cap table: WaVe-X is the venture arm of WALTER Group, while F-LOG is backed by logistics group Fiege. Their operating networks could help Conlio reach more freight businesses, but the durable advantage will depend on whether each deployment becomes easier as the platform learns more document types and workflows without weakening auditability. Conlio can expand from invoice verification into a broader financial layer only if forwarders continue to trust the decisions that release cash.
