Spanish renewable-operations software company Green Eagle Solutions has secured an undisclosed majority investment from Copilot Capital. Former backer SET Ventures describes the transaction as an acquisition and its own exit, while Green Eagle says the founding team and operating vision remain in place.
The company will use Copilot's backing to accelerate its North American go-to-market effort and invest further in data and AI for ARSOS, its automation suite for wind, solar, battery and hydro assets. Green Eagle says it already works with two of the largest US power producers.
Scaling the execution layer for renewable fleets
ARSOS sits between renewable assets and the software that operators already use. Instead of stopping at monitoring and alerts, it is designed to detect operational events, decide on a response and execute actions such as fault handling, curtailment changes, grid-compliance dispatches and setpoint control. That distinction matters commercially: a dashboard still leaves work with the control room, whereas an execution layer can let a growing portfolio add sites without increasing operator headcount at the same rate.
Green Eagle reports that ARSOS now manages about 90 GW of wind, solar, battery and hydro assets, with more than 10,000 wind turbines operating autonomously and over one million automated actions each month. Cinco Dias reports 45 customers across 18 countries. Those figures are company-supplied, but they show why the next constraint is distribution and repeatable deployment rather than proving that control-room automation can work at all.
The majority investment changes the ownership structure at the point where Green Eagle is moving from European expansion into a more deliberate US push. Copilot says its operating playbook focuses on sales, internationalisation and AI for European software companies. For Green Eagle, the practical test will be whether that support shortens enterprise sales and deployment cycles without weakening the reliability, cybersecurity and local grid integrations required for software that can issue commands to physical energy assets.
Green Eagle was founded in Spain in 2012 by software engineers Alejandro Cabrera and Juan Fernandez. The pair launched the ARSOS Automation Suite in 2020 after initially building tools for the manual, round-the-clock work performed in renewable control rooms. SET first backed the company in 2021 and invested again in its 2023 Series A. The new deal closes that venture-backed chapter and gives Copilot a controlling position as ARSOS tries to become a standard operating layer for larger, more geographically diverse renewable fleets.
