€350k · Pre-Seed · Software · Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon-based DeskAmigo, a marketplace for booking short-term workspace in underused hospitality venues, has raised €350,000 in pre-seed funding from an unnamed group of Portuguese and British entrepreneurs with backgrounds in hospitality, food and beverage, and real estate. The company said the capital will support product development, new features, expansion of its Portugal venue network and DeskAmigo for Business.
Portugal Startup News reported that the platform has more than 140 venues. Jornal Económico later reported company-supplied figures of 600 users, more than 1,100 bookings and 144% revenue growth over the preceding three months.
Turning slack venue capacity into workspace inventory
DeskAmigo lets venues decide how many places to list, what to charge and when that inventory is available. For cafés, restaurants and hotels, this turns quieter periods into bookable workspace revenue without the cost or commitment of converting premises into permanent offices.
That supply-side control lowers the commitment required to join while giving DeskAmigo more varied inventory than a conventional coworking operator could build itself. Planned subscription credits and the business product could turn occasional bookings into recurring demand, but their value will depend on keeping enough nearby venues available for distributed teams.
