Seven figures · Seed · Wellness & Beauty · Berlin, Germany
Berlin-based intimate-care brand DR. VIVIEN KARL has closed a seven-figure Seed round led by Osnabrück family office zwei.7, with existing investors including DvH Ventures participating. The company says the capital will support its move from a direct-to-consumer business into major German drugstore chains.
Founded in 2021 by pharmacist Dr. Vivien Karl and marketer Julia Huhnholz, the company develops natural, science-based products for intimate wellbeing. Its range has grown from a single intimate cream into products spanning dryness, infections, sex, pregnancy and birth, and everyday care. The company’s press page says the portfolio now includes more than nine products.
DvH Ventures says the brand has served more than 70,000 customers and grew revenue by more than 200% from 2024 to 2025. Those are company and investor figures, but they matter because the next phase depends on turning online demand into repeat sales in physical retail.
Retail turns brand demand into shelf economics
The financing gives DR. VIVIEN KARL a concrete distribution task: secure shelf space and make intimate care visible where consumers already buy routine health and personal-care products. Drugstore listings can broaden reach beyond people who discover the brand online, but they also change the operating model. Inventory must arrive ahead of retailer orders, packaging and assortment have to work on shelf, and launch marketing has to generate sell-through rather than simply traffic to the company’s own store.
That shift can make the brand easier to encounter and help normalise a category the founders say has long been underserved and difficult to discuss. It also raises the execution bar. Online, the company controls merchandising, education and customer data; in a drugstore, it has less room to explain the product and competes directly for attention. The strongest evidence of progress will therefore be sustained reorder rates and expansion across chains, not the first listing alone.
The round continues an existing investor relationship. DvH Ventures led a €1.5m pre-seed financing in 2023 and says it is backing the company again as zwei.7 becomes the new lead. For DR. VIVIEN KARL, the new capital is less about proving an initial product than about testing whether a digitally built specialist brand can become an everyday retail category.
