$17m · Seed · E-commerce · Stockholm, Sweden
eComID, the Stockholm company building a portable shopper profile for fashion e-commerce, has raised $17m in seed funding. Systemiq Capital led the round, with Regeneration.VC, Course Corrected, Stadium and returning investor CapitalT participating. H&M Group remains a strategic investor. The company will use the capital for international expansion, a wider rollout of its Shopping Passport, deeper sizing and product-discovery capabilities, and the team and infrastructure needed to serve more brands.
Portable shopper context turns returns into retained revenue
Online fashion stores normally meet each shopper with little information about fit, taste or prior purchases. eComID's Shopping Passport lets a shopper carry selected context across participating brands. Its Vera agent uses that information for size recommendations, conversational search and personalised discovery on the retailer's own site. Tech Funding News reports that the system is consent-based and modular, so shoppers choose what to share while brands can deploy sizing, search or discovery separately.
The commercial mechanism joins two metrics that often pull in opposite directions: conversion and returns. eComID says it reaches 20 million shoppers a month across more than 60 brands, and that shoppers using its product return 30% fewer purchases while participating brands see conversion rise 10%. Those are company-reported figures, but the pairing matters. A fit tool that only cuts orders can protect return costs while weakening sales; eComID's claim is that better context can raise the number of purchases customers keep. Systemiq describes the product as one subscription layered over an existing storefront, tying the value proposition directly to retailer economics rather than a separate consumer app.
International expansion will test the network
The passport should become more useful as more retailers participate because shoppers need to enter preferences less often and brands receive context earlier in a visit. That potential network effect also creates the execution test for this round: eComID must add brands without weakening consent, security or implementation quality. The company says it is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and GDPR compliant, while Rundqvist told Tech Funding News that shoppers control which data each brand can access.
Stadium's role is particularly useful evidence because it is both an early customer and a new investor. The company launched in 2024 and grew without a dedicated sales or marketing team, according to its announcement. The next milestone is whether the funded sales, product and infrastructure build-out can turn that product-led adoption into a repeatable international distribution model while preserving the return and conversion gains retailers are buying.
