€200k · Other round · Healthtech · Granada, Spain
Granada-based eubiOmic Health has raised €200k in its first investment round, an equity increase backed by Nazarí Ventures and private investors. El Referente reports a €1m pre-money valuation. The spin-off from the Andalusian public health service and the University of Granada will use the capital to industrialise its formulation, develop an applicator device, prepare technical and regulatory documentation, manufacture a pilot batch and build the logistics and commercial structure for a planned Spanish launch.
The company's first product is a food for special medical purposes intended for patients living temporarily with an ileostomy after rectal-cancer surgery. eubiOmic says the formulation delivers nutrients to the excluded intestinal segment during the months before reconnection, with the aim of maintaining the colon's microbiota, motility and function and reducing later bowel complications.
Capital for the gap between clinic and market
This is transition financing rather than a broad expansion round. El Referente says the underlying concept has been clinically validated in patients, while the product itself remains in industrialisation and regulatory development. The work funded now turns a patented clinical idea into something that can be manufactured consistently, applied by patients, documented for regulators and distributed through pharmacies and online channels.
Each step removes a different risk. Formulation and pilot-batch work test manufacturability; the applicator affects usability; regulatory documentation determines the route to market; and a planned real-world study will examine adherence, acceptance and willingness to pay. Progress on one does not guarantee the others, so the value of the €200k lies in reaching a set of linked milestones rather than simply extending research.
A recurring-use model still needs adoption evidence
eubiOmic plans to sell through pharmacies and direct subscriptions. The product is intended for use three times a day during the period a patient has an ileostomy, which the company estimates at six months on average. That creates the possibility of recurring revenue per patient, but only if clinicians, pharmacists and patients understand the product, patients adhere to it and the regulatory positioning supports access.
The company aims to complete the device file and distribution discussions during 2026, release a pilot batch and run the real-world study in 2027, ahead of a proposed national launch in the second half of that year. Those are planned milestones, not completed ones. The round gives eubiOmic a path to test whether clinical promise can become a reproducible product and a workable route to patients.
