$5m · Pre-Seed · AI · Berlin, Germany
Berlin-based F13 has emerged from stealth with $5m in pre-seed funding to build foundation models for precise, editable vector graphics. Credo Ventures and Point Nine Capital led the round, with participation from angel investors including Carles Reina of Baobab Ventures and Jack Richardson of Mainframe.
Founded by Gregory Janik and Ingimar Tomasson, F13 is developing models that turn text, images or existing graphics into vector output for professional uses such as data visualisation, scientific diagrams, maps and brand-consistent documents. The company says its early-access product is available through a developer API and web platform.
F13 plans to use the funding to bring its first model to market and expand compute, data and hiring as it develops models for more complex design tasks.
Accuracy makes the output testable
F13 is narrowing generative imagery to jobs where quality can be checked against a specification. A chart can be tested against its underlying data, a scientific diagram against its proportions and a branded layout against a design system. That gives professional buyers a clearer acceptance threshold than the subjective question of whether an image simply looks good.
Editable SVG output also keeps the product inside an existing design workflow: users can correct individual elements instead of discarding a flat image and starting again. If F13 can turn those corrections into better data and evaluations, precision and editability could reinforce each other as a product advantage. The commercial test is whether that workflow depth stays ahead of general image and code models as their diagramming capabilities improve.
