FitnessKPI raised more than €1m in a funding round led by Angels, with participation from Encomenda, business angels and corporate investors. The Spanish company said the capital would expand its international sales effort and industry-event presence while supporting further development of its fitness-club analytics platform and its AI product.
Turning fragmented club data into operating decisions
FitnessKPI was founded in 2018 by Pablo Viñaspre and Isabel Vega after they saw sports-centre managers relying on manual reporting that was slow and difficult to compare. Its software connects data from club-management, accounting, booking and customer systems, then brings those records into one set of dashboards. The company says its ANNA assistant can analyse a club's data, flag deviations and predict outcomes such as which members are at risk of cancelling.
The commercial mechanism is retention as an operating metric. Gym economics depend heavily on recurring memberships, but a warning that arrives after a cancellation has limited value. FitnessKPI is trying to identify changes in attendance and other member behaviour early enough for operators to intervene through targeted communications or service changes. Its benchmarking and CRM modules extend that proposition from reporting into action: managers can compare performance with similar clubs, segment members and automate follow-up workflows.
At the time of the round, FitnessKPI reported serving more than 600 clubs across 18 countries, processing daily data associated with more than two million members and tripling annual revenue in each of the previous two years. Those are company-supplied figures, but they explain why the financing was aimed at international distribution as well as product development. A platform that integrates deeply with club systems can become harder to replace as more operating history accumulates, provided its recommendations produce measurable improvements rather than another layer of dashboards.
The expansion test is therefore twofold. FitnessKPI needs integrations that work across different management systems and markets, while its predictions must remain useful for clubs with different membership models, pricing and customer behaviour. Angels lists the investment in its 2024 portfolio and highlights the founders' sector experience and the company's move into 18 countries. The round gives FitnessKPI more capacity to turn that specialist knowledge into repeatable onboarding, retained customers and evidence that its interventions improve club performance.
