$25m · Other round · Software · Stuttgart, Germany
Stuttgart-based Flip, which builds an employee experience platform for frontline workers, has raised $25m in new funding from existing investors Notion Capital and HV Capital, with L-Bank joining as a new investor alongside business angels and institutional investors. Flip says the capital will fund infrastructure for bringing AI into operational work, centred on its Fusion app builder and Frontline Identity product.
Digital identity is the access layer
Many production, retail, logistics, care and hospitality workers do not have a corporate email address or routine access to a company computer. Flip combines internal communication, workflows, digital identity and AI tools in one mobile platform. Its Frontline Identity product removes the corporate-email requirement for accessing workplace systems, while Fusion is designed to generate applications for a particular store, team or process rather than forcing employers to buy and customise separate software packages.
That pairing creates a more specific commercial proposition than adding an assistant to an existing employee app. Identity can become the access layer through which a frontline worker reaches company systems; Fusion can then build workflows on top of that access. If Flip can make those deployments repeatable across large employers, it can expand from communications software into infrastructure that sits between workers and multiple enterprise systems. The execution test is whether generated apps integrate reliably with those systems while preserving the permissions, security and governance large customers require.
Enterprise deployment is the proof point
Flip reports more than 1,000 customer brands, over two million users and more than 200 employees. It says industrial-packaging company Greif reached 85% adoption and 74% weekly active use in an initial pilot before expanding the platform to more than 100 sites in 15 countries. Parts distributor Europart uses Flip across roughly 2,000 employees at 300 locations in 28 countries.
Those deployments matter because frontline software is bought centrally but succeeds locally. A digital identity can remove the first access barrier, yet customer value still depends on workers returning to the product and on employers connecting it to real operational processes. Existing backers Notion and HV are increasing their stakes as Flip moves further into that infrastructure role; L-Bank's participation also brings a regional development investor from Baden-Württemberg, where Flip is headquartered.
