€4.5m · Series A · Fintech · Stockholm, Sweden
Float has raised a €4.5m Series A led by CHAPTERS Group. The company announcement says the Stockholm fintech will use the capital to double its team, expand in the UK and develop its revenue-based financing service into a broader AI-native financial platform for technology SMEs.
Credit is the entry point
Float began by offering recurring-revenue companies flexible, non-dilutive credit. Its facilities are designed around subscription revenue, allowing a company to draw capital without selling equity each time it needs to fund hiring, sales or working capital. Float says it has allocated more than €100m to over 130 European technology companies since 2022.
That lending relationship gives Float an operational foothold inside a customer’s finances. The planned platform will connect to bank accounts and accounting systems, analyse financial performance and automate tasks including payments, expenses and accounting. Lending remains the core product, but the company is trying to turn the data and workflows around a credit decision into a wider finance layer.
The expansion is commercially coherent: a lender already needs current revenue, cash and accounting data to assess risk. Reusing those connections for accounts, transfers and finance operations can deepen the customer relationship. It also raises the execution bar because errors in payments or accounting workflows carry a different cost from a delayed analytics dashboard.
Expansion adds underwriting complexity
The UK is already Float’s largest market, and the Series A will support further growth there. Its current product combines growth funding with multi-currency accounts and foreign-exchange transfers across European markets. CHAPTERS also brings experience acquiring and operating software companies, which Float plans to use as it explores M&A.
Growth across countries and products increases the range of businesses Float must understand. Revenue-based facilities depend on durable recurring income, while accounts and payment services introduce regulatory, security and operational requirements. The advantage of an AI-native platform will therefore be measured less by how many finance tasks it can name than by whether it can automate them while preserving underwriting discipline and customer control.
The new capital funds that transition from specialist lender to financial operating platform. If Float can keep credit performance stable while adding daily finance workflows, its lending product becomes a distribution channel for a broader relationship rather than an isolated source of capital.
