€1.6m · Other round · AI · Lisbon, Portugal
Granter has raised €1.6m in equity funding to expand its AI platform for finding, preparing and managing public-funding applications. The round was led by 3xP Global through its Impact Innovation Fund, with Celtis Venture Partners, Gateway Ventures, Deel and angel investor Bracken Darrell also participating, according to Tech.eu's funding report. The capital will support product development, hiring and expansion from Portugal into Spain, Germany and Italy.
Turning grant work into a managed workflow
The Lisbon company is building what it calls an AI Grant Consultant. Granter's product site says the agent scans public and private funding databases, checks an organisation against eligibility criteria, drafts applications using its context and playbooks, scores the result against the call, and then tracks milestones and reporting after an award.
That end-to-end scope matters commercially. Grant discovery, proposal writing and post-award compliance are usually separate jobs, often spread across consultants, spreadsheets and internal subject-matter experts. Granter is trying to keep the workflow inside one system, so information gathered for matching can carry into the application and later into reporting. The platform sells annual software access, while its professional tier adds hands-on support and a success fee, according to the company's pricing page.
Expansion depends on local funding knowledge
Tech.eu reports that Granter has supported more than 140 organisations applying for over €30m in funding, with customers including ANA Airports, Galp, the Portuguese Navy and Fidelidade. The company plans to more than double its workforce by year-end as it enters three additional European markets. The new investors bring connections in Portugal, Austria, Germany and the wider technology sector alongside the capital.
The operating challenge is that public funding is not one uniform market. Each country and programme has its own rules, evidence requirements, timelines and language. Granter therefore has to expand its coverage without turning a repeatable software product into a collection of one-off consulting projects. Its ability to encode local programme knowledge, keep source rules current and show users where human review remains necessary will determine whether the platform can scale beyond its home market.
