Harmonic Security has raised a $50m oversubscribed Series B led by Crosspoint Capital Partners, with existing investors also participating. The round takes the company's total funding to $76m. Harmonic says it will use the capital to expand engineering and go-to-market teams in the US and UK as it broadens its workforce AI security platform.
Context becomes the control point
Harmonic's product is designed to monitor how employees use AI tools and apply policy at the moment data or an action is sent. The company says its small language models classify each interaction in context, allowing the system to distinguish between a developer referring to a database schema and someone pasting live credentials. Security teams can then block, warn or log activity rather than imposing a blanket ban on AI tools.
That mechanism matters because the relevant traffic is spreading beyond approved browser applications. Harmonic says it has extended coverage to desktop AI tools and agentic workflows over the past year. Its website describes controls at the endpoint and model-context-protocol layer, where an agent may read files, call APIs or write to systems without a person typing each prompt. The commercial proposition is therefore broader than data-loss prevention: one layer is meant to show which AI tasks people and agents perform, what data is involved and where a policy should intervene.
Distribution becomes part of the product
Harmonic reports that its platform now covers millions of employees at more than 100 companies. It has also signed distribution partnerships with Climb and Distology, integrated with Anthropic's Claude Compliance API and joined Cisco Cloud Control's Agent Builder ecosystem. Those routes can put Harmonic alongside enterprise tools customers already use, reducing the burden of selling and deploying a separate security surface.
The company has grown to more than 90 employees across the US and UK. Its next test is whether that distribution can turn broad visibility into controls that security teams trust at scale. Context-sensitive enforcement has to be accurate enough to avoid blocking legitimate work, while agent coverage must follow actions across tools that change quickly. The Series B funds the engineering and commercial capacity for that expansion, but the quality of policy decisions and the ease of deployment will determine whether adoption grows beyond early AI-security demand.
