$3.2m · Seed · AI · Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon-based Humanos has raised a $3.2m seed round led by Anthemis, with Springbank, Critical Ventures and Start Ventures participating. Founders of Sword Health, Feedzai and OutSystems also joined the round. The company plans to use the capital to expand its risk datasets and core infrastructure, and to grow the network of financial providers connected to its platform.
Humanos is building risk infrastructure for software agents that can move money, access data or make decisions on behalf of people and organisations. Its system assigns each agent a live score from 0 to 100 using signals such as identity, permissions, safeguards and operating behaviour. Those signals accumulate into a portable risk history that insurers, lenders and companies deploying agents can use in their own decisions.
The company says its technology is already deployed across more than 350 organisations, including fintechs, hospitals and insurers. Its published customer work gives the model more shape: InsureNow is integrating Humanos signals into underwriting, monitoring, renewal and claims assessment, while Agentics Credit uses its runtime risk intelligence alongside a separate credit model for agents trading with borrowed capital. These are company-reported deployments and partnerships rather than independently audited adoption figures.
Risk evidence as infrastructure
The commercial bet is that autonomous software creates a moving underwriting problem. A point-in-time questionnaire can describe an agent's permissions today, but it cannot show whether those permissions, safeguards or behaviour have changed by the time a policy renews or a lender adjusts a limit. Humanos wants to supply that continuing evidence layer while leaving the final insurance, credit or access decision with the financial provider.
That separation matters. A risk score is useful only if buyers can connect it to accountable identities, enforceable controls and a history of what an agent was authorised to do. Humanos' execution records and human-approval checkpoints are intended to make those inputs verifiable across systems. Critical Ventures describes the product as an AI control plane for authorisation, oversight and audit, rather than another application-level agent.
The execution test now is whether Humanos can turn early integrations into repeatable distribution through insurers and lenders. The company is targeting $1bn of agentic economic activity processed through its infrastructure over the next year. Reaching that figure would be evidence of network usage; the harder proof will be whether financial providers make recurring underwriting or credit decisions from the risk histories the network produces.
