€2m · Other round · Semiconductors · Gothenburg, Sweden
Gothenburg-based InfiniNode Technologies has secured €2m in investor funding and grants from Turbine Capital, PSV Hafnium, Norrsken Evolve, Chalmers Ventures and Almi Invest, alongside public innovation funding. The company will use the financing to expand its semiconductor IP portfolio, deepen customer work and scale commercial operations.
The announced €2m combines private investment and public grants. InfiniNode did not disclose the split.
Data movement sets the system limit
InfiniNode develops licensable interconnect and memory-subsystem building blocks for companies designing systems-on-chip. As processors, accelerators and memory are combined into heterogeneous and chiplet-based architectures, moving data between them can consume power, add latency and complicate verification even when the individual compute engines become faster.
The company’s customers are chip designers that can integrate pre-verified IP rather than building every communication function from scratch. That model can shorten development and reduce technical risk, while giving InfiniNode recurring opportunities to license a common architecture across AI, RISC-V, high-performance-computing and chiplet programmes.
Reusable IP must survive different designs
The commercial test is portability. Each customer has its own process node, performance target, memory hierarchy and toolchain, so reusable IP must be configurable without turning every engagement into a bespoke engineering project. Strong verification and reference integrations matter as much as peak benchmark results because a defect discovered late in a chip programme is expensive to correct.
InfiniNode was spun out of Chalmers University of Technology and says its team draws on more than 100 person-years of research and development in computer architecture, interconnection networks and hardware verification. The financing gives it room to turn that research base into a broader product portfolio, but customer adoption will depend on proving the blocks inside real silicon and reducing time-to-market across more than one design.
