$2.5m · Pre-Seed · AI · London, UK
London-based Itoflow has raised $2.5m in Pre-Seed funding led by Balderton Capital, with angel investors including Cleo founder Barney Hussey-Yeo, according to Balderton's announcement. The company says it will expand its engineering and quantitative-research teams, accelerate product development, and support commercial and regulatory work.
Itoflow is building AI agents for professional investment teams. Rather than supplying a single investment model, the platform translates each firm's own research approach, risk constraints and review criteria into governed workflows. During pilots, those agents conduct quantitative research and backtesting, monitor portfolios continuously, and surface material changes with supporting evidence across asset classes including equities, bonds, ETFs, commodities and digital assets.
Controls are the commercial wedge
The product is aimed at a costly gap between general-purpose AI and the internal systems built by large quantitative firms. Itoflow's proposition is not simply that an agent can produce research faster; it is that a smaller investment team can encode a repeatable process, inspect the evidence behind an answer, and decide which actions still need human approval. The company's product documentation separates immediate research from scheduled monitors and managed strategies, turning a one-off question into work that can continue between portfolio reviews.
That governance layer matters because the software operates around proprietary strategies and sensitive portfolio data. Itoflow says customers can set approval thresholds and deploy the platform within their own infrastructure. Its security documentation also states that live trades require explicit user approval. Together, those controls make trust part of the product rather than a compliance feature added after deployment.
Balderton reports that Itoflow is running pilots with hedge funds and family offices and is in discussions with exchanges, brokerages and financial-data providers. The commercial test is whether those pilots become durable workflows. An agent that keeps monitoring markets can deepen its value over time, but only if investment teams can verify how it reached a conclusion and keep authority over consequential actions.
The founding team's experience is aligned with that challenge. CEO Aditya Jha spent nine years in quantitative research at JPMorgan, RBC and Tower Research Capital, while other team members built infrastructure at Google, Apple and Microsoft. Itoflow's own research on machine-checked workflow contracts shows where the product thesis is heading: persistent agents whose instructions, evidence obligations and limits remain reviewable as the work evolves.
