€10m · Series A · Fintech · Barcelona, Spain
Kintai has raised €10m in Series A funding led by Barlon Capital, with Prosegur, TQ Eurocredit, the Institut Català de Finances and other investors participating. The Barcelona fintech provides working-capital finance to Spanish SMEs by advancing cash against receivables.
The company says the capital will accelerate commercial expansion in Spain, add product functionality and double its team to 70 people over the following 12 months.
Receivables become a faster source of working capital
Kintai’s financing model is built around the lag between a company issuing an invoice and receiving payment. Its digital platform analyses a business and its receivables, then advances liquidity before those invoices mature. That gives SMEs cash for payroll, inventory and growth without waiting through long customer payment cycles.
Company-supplied figures reported by Intereconomía say Kintai has financed more than €150m for over 1,000 companies since launching in 2021. The same report puts 2025 revenue at €4.5m and EBITDA at €500k. Those figures suggest the company has already reached meaningful lending volume while remaining profitable, although they have not been independently audited in the announcement.
Scaling finance requires capital and risk discipline
The Series A follows a €250k pre-seed in 2021 and a 2023 financing package that Tech.eu records at €2.5m; later company reporting describes €750k of that earlier financing as the seed round. Barlon’s lead investment is joined by a corporate security and cash-services group, a private-credit firm and Catalonia’s public financial institution, giving Kintai a backer set with direct exposure to payments, credit and business finance.
Product expansion can widen Kintai’s customer base, but growth in financed volume also increases underwriting and funding demands. The commercial test is whether its technology can assess receivables quickly enough to offer useful liquidity while maintaining pricing and loss performance as the portfolio expands. Hiring in product, technology and sales should help grow distribution; the underlying credit controls will determine whether that growth compounds or consumes capital.
