Helsingborg-based Klang has raised SEK 15m from existing investors and shareholders in a round led by Johan Lenander, with Emil Sjödin and Daniel Gadd among the participants. The Swedish software company will use the funding for product development, international expansion and around ten hires across research, development and go-to-market roles.
Klang transcribes, summarises and analyses meetings, interviews and other conversations using its own speech and language models. The company says annual recurring revenue has more than doubled to SEK 20m. Its near-term expansion targets the Nordics, Benelux, the DACH region and Japan.
Local speech models make privacy part of the product
Many conversation tools send audio to large cloud platforms for processing. Klang's alternative is to develop and operate its own models in Sweden, allowing organisations to keep sensitive conversation data on European infrastructure or process it locally. That architecture can matter in public-sector, legal and other privacy-sensitive workflows.
Klang is also investing in language performance. Better handling of Nordic accents, dialects and domain-specific speech can create an advantage that general-purpose tools may not prioritise. Expansion into Benelux, DACH and Japan will require similarly strong language performance, distribution and trust in each market.
