£5m · Other round · Fintech · London, UK
London-based chartered insurance broker Konsileo has completed a £5m equity investment led by long-term shareholder Committed Capital, with ACF Investors participating. The company says the capital will support further recruitment and development of its proprietary broking platform as it approaches its tenth anniversary.
Konsileo says it now employs more than 220 people and arranges over £85m in annual insurance premiums for businesses across the UK. That scale has been built organically, according to Committed Capital, adding brokers rather than buying other firms.
Software and structure scale together
Commercial insurance brokers have to collect detailed risk information, compare markets, prepare documents and satisfy compliance requirements while preserving time for client advice. Konsileo's platform is designed to remove some of that administrative load: the company says it can auto-fill forms, generate documents, pull information from external sources and support peer-to-peer compliance reviews. Its earlier product material also describes whole-of-market placement tools and richer data capture for presenting risks to insurers.
The software is paired with a deliberately flat operating model. Instead of conventional line management, Konsileo says brokers work in self-managed teams, receive coaching and are rewarded for the value created through client relationships. That combination matters commercially. Adding experienced brokers expands distribution and premium volume, while common systems can standardise data and compliance without recreating layers of regional management.
The £5m therefore funds two linked inputs: people who bring specialist advice and relationships, and infrastructure intended to let those people serve more clients consistently. The execution test is whether the platform and coaching model can maintain advice quality as headcount grows, particularly as the company introduces more AI into regulated workflows.
A new equity round after the 2024 financing
Konsileo launched as an independent broker in 2017. In November 2024 it announced an £8m financing package combining debt and equity, backed by Committed Capital, ACF Investors and Growth Lending, when it employed 160 people and reported more than £60m in gross written premium on a run-rate basis. The latest £5m transaction is a separate equity investment and comes after headcount rose to more than 220 and annual premiums arranged reached £85m, according to the company.
Committed Capital said the broker's organic expansion rests on its proprietary platform and ability to attract insurance professionals. ACF Investors, which first invested in 2022, pointed to the scalability of the combination of technology and broker autonomy. Those are investor assessments, but they define the milestone attached to this round: convert a differentiated operating model into continued growth without relying on acquisitions.
