€600k · Other round · Software · Meda, Italy
Meda-based Magic Vision has closed €600k in funding to finish development and bring Silver Eye, its monitoring system for older and vulnerable people, to market. Tech.eu reports that Italian social-sector software company SixS invested alongside a group of Italian business angels with legal, compliance and business-development experience.
The company says Silver Eye is already being used in pilot and commercial projects with Italian care providers, with more than 200 sensors installed. It aims to monitor more than 100 people by the end of 2026. Magic Vision is separately preparing a €1.5m capital increase for commercial growth, an Italian partner network and European expansion; that planned financing is not part of the completed €600k round.
Wearable-free monitoring changes the care workflow
Silver Eye combines environmental sensors with computer vision to detect falls, track access and identify changes in activity or rest patterns. Caregivers receive notifications or alarms when the system flags an event. Unlike an emergency pendant, the product does not depend on a person remembering to wear, charge or activate a device, which matters most when a fall or deterioration makes an active call for help difficult.
Magic Vision says data is processed locally through edge AI rather than sending or storing images remotely. That design connects privacy directly to the product’s commercial use: care homes and families need continuous monitoring to create timely alerts, but intrusive video surveillance could undermine resident acceptance. Local processing can make deployment easier to justify, although customers will still need evidence that alerts are accurate and that the system fits staff escalation procedures.
The commercial value therefore depends on more than detecting a fall in a demonstration. A care operator must be able to install sensors across private rooms and shared settings, distinguish residents from visitors or staff, and route a useful alert to someone able to act. Magic Vision’s reported move from pilots into commercial projects is an early test of that workflow, while the installed-sensor base gives the team data for refining reliability across different environments.
SixS brings proximity to social-care operators
SixS develops Gecos, management software for social cooperatives and third-sector organisations, and Magic Vision presented Silver Eye at the investor’s Gecos Days event in 2025. That relationship gives the funding a strategic dimension: SixS already serves organisations that could use monitoring alongside operational software. No product integration or distribution agreement was announced, so the near-term proof point is whether Magic Vision can turn that channel proximity into repeatable deployments rather than isolated pilots.
Teleborsa reports that the nine-person company was founded in 2023 by six co-founders who had worked together on AI and computer vision since 2017. The next planned round is meant to build sales, customer-success and partner capacity. For Silver Eye, international expansion will depend on whether the team can reproduce installation, privacy assurance and response workflows across care providers with different operating practices.
