$2.2m · Pre-Seed · Software · Paris, France
Mio has raised a $2.2m Pre-Seed round, equivalent to about €1.9m at announcement, co-led by Fabric.vc and Topology.vc. The company announcement introduces the Paris startup’s AI coworker, which operates inside Slack rather than requiring employees to open a separate application.
An AI agent inside the conversation layer
Mio is designed to observe workplace context in Slack, connect with other company tools and take on tasks within existing conversations. The product thesis is that an assistant becomes more useful when it is present where teams already coordinate work and can act with knowledge of projects, decisions and responsibilities.
That positioning removes one adoption hurdle, but creates harder technical and governance questions. A useful coworker needs broad context and permissions, while businesses need controls over what it can read, retain and change. Mio will have to make integrations and delegated actions dependable enough that users can distinguish a completed task from a plausible-looking response.
The company says it can help teams manage follow-ups and execute work across connected applications. The value will depend on how well it maintains context over time and whether it can handle routine processes without creating another layer of notifications or manual review.
Scaling product and distribution together
The round will be used to expand engineering, accelerate product development and grow the customer base across Europe and the United States. Founder Arthaud Mesnard launched Mio in 2025 and is bringing the company out of stealth with the financing.
Fabric and Topology are backing a category crowded with horizontal copilots and specialist agents. Slack gives Mio a clear interface and distribution surface, but the startup still needs to prove that its embedded model produces better retention and task completion than standalone tools or features built directly by workplace-software incumbents.
The next milestones are therefore product trust and repeat usage, not just integration count. If Mio can show that teams delegate recurring work and keep the agent active after initial experimentation, its location inside Slack could become a durable workflow advantage rather than a convenient demo.
