Izmir-based mobile game studio Mobge has received an undisclosed investment from Joygrid Ventures at a $10m valuation, according to Mobidictum and eGirisim. The amount invested was not disclosed, so the valuation should not be read as the size of the round. Mobge says the backing will help it concentrate more time and resources on action games with global growth potential.
From rapid testing to longer-lived titles
Mobge's stated development strength is rapid production, testing and iteration across projects of different genres and sizes. Co-founder and CEO Özgür Taşkın told Mobidictum that the studio now wants to identify the projects showing the strongest potential and develop them into larger, longer-lasting games. The shift is commercially meaningful: quick experimentation can reduce the cost of finding a promising concept, while a durable title needs deeper content, live operations and continued player engagement after launch.
The studio has evidence that it can deliver a polished action game. Its Viking-themed platformer Oddmar has 24 hand-crafted levels and was named a 2018 Apple Design Award winner. Mobge's official game page describes Oddmar as a hand-animated, physics-based action-adventure released on iOS and Android; Mobidictum reports that it later reached Nintendo Switch. That history gives the new investor a visible quality benchmark, but one acclaimed release does not make future action titles predictable.
More focus also concentrates execution risk
The investment appears designed to give Mobge more room to keep promising projects in development rather than treating every prototype as a finished product. Joygrid says it aims to pair capital with hands-on industry experience, while Mobge points to the investor's long-term approach as a reason for the partnership. Neither party disclosed the cheque size, ownership acquired or runway created, leaving the financial capacity behind that plan unclear.
For Mobge, the operating test is whether its fast feedback loop can improve selection as well as speed. Concentrating resources on fewer games can raise production quality and support a longer commercial life, but it also increases the cost of choosing the wrong concept. The next useful proof point will be a new action title moving from early testing into a sustained live product, with retention and player spending strong enough to justify the additional development time.
