€20m · Other round · Energy · Berlin, Germany
Nomos, the Berlin-based energy software company, has raised €20m in funding in a round led by Index Ventures. Markus Villig, Daniel Dines and Tomas Okmanas also participated.
Nomos provides the software and regulated infrastructure that lets hardware manufacturers and installers offer electricity products under their own brands. Its platform covers forecasting, energy procurement and trading, billing, metering and customer support. Electricity supply and solar export are already live, with battery and electric-vehicle flexibility planned next.
The company says the funding will support product development and expansion across European markets.
Turning installers into energy distributors
Home-energy companies already own the customer relationship at the point where solar panels, batteries and chargers are installed. Nomos gives those businesses a white-label route into electricity supply without each one building its own regulated supplier, trading desk and billing stack. That can turn a one-off hardware sale into an ongoing energy relationship, while giving Nomos distribution through partners rather than acquiring every household directly.
The leverage depends on how much demand and flexible capacity those channels aggregate. More connected homes can improve forecasting and create a larger pool of batteries and vehicles to shift consumption or sell power when prices move. But Nomos still carries operational exposure behind the interface: compliance, balancing and trading performance must scale with its partners' customer bases.
