€7m · Series A · Fintech · Rouen, France
French fintech Olenbee has announced a €7m financing to expand its card-linked employee-benefits platform in France and add products beyond meal and gift vouchers. Tech.eu classifies the event as a Series A. Olenbee names GO CAPITAL, Bpifrance, the European Regional Development Fund, Val de France Angels and All'n Breizh among the backers, alongside other entrepreneurs, business angels and an unnamed international technology figure.
The announcement does not disclose a valuation or a complete split between equity and public financing. Olenbee says the money will support customer and user growth, with a target of 80,000 users by early 2027, while funding new benefit categories including cashback, culture and mobility. The company launched meal vouchers in June 2025 and gift vouchers in June 2026.
Turning an existing bank card into the benefit rail
Olenbee replaces a dedicated meal or gift card with an open-banking workflow. Employees connect their bank account, pay with their usual card or phone, and then validate eligible transactions in the Olenbee app for reimbursement to their account. The company's employer FAQ says transaction data comes through Linxo, a Crédit Agricole subsidiary, and that its connection covers more than 800 banks.
That design changes the commercial mechanism for all three sides of the transaction. Employers can issue benefits without distributing another payment card or pre-funding a closed network. Employees keep their normal payment method and can spend at merchants that meet the benefit rules. Merchants receive an ordinary card payment rather than joining a separate acceptance network or waiting for reimbursement from a voucher issuer.
Olenbee says more than 6,000 employees already use the service. Founded in 2024 by Arnaud Martenat, Olivier Berthommier, François Roulin and Gonzague Bourrut Lacouture, the company is moving from a focused meal-voucher product toward a broader infrastructure for workplace spending.
Scale depends on recognition and reimbursement
The same architecture that removes the dedicated card also carries the execution risk. Olenbee must identify which everyday transactions qualify under each benefit's rules, preserve reliable bank connections and move reimbursements quickly enough that the experience feels simpler than an incumbent card. Adding culture, mobility and cashback expands the addressable use cases, but it also adds different eligibility logic and employer policies.
The funding therefore backs more than customer acquisition. Olenbee must prove that one transaction-recognition layer can support several benefit categories without creating new administrative work for employers or new uncertainty for employees. If that holds as the user base grows, the company can turn a narrow voucher alternative into a reusable distribution rail for workplace benefits.
