$3m · Other round · Software · Paris, France
Paris-based Outline has raised $3m in financing that the company describes as a pre-seed round, led by Founders Future with 100IN, NewSchool.vc and angel investors participating. The company says it has onboarded 10 finance leaders, including teams at Zelty, Shares and HarfangLab, as it emerges from stealth.
Journal du Net reported that Outline will use the capital to continue product development and commercial deployment, hiring developers and sales staff as it grows from three to seven employees. The company targets businesses with €5m to €150m in annual revenue that have outgrown spreadsheets but do not need the cost or complexity of enterprise planning software.
Turning fragmented inputs into a financial model
Outline is building an operating system for financial planning and analysis. Its product connects accounting, billing, payroll, sales and spreadsheet data, then helps finance teams create budgets, forecasts and scenarios around the company's own metrics and assumptions. According to Outline's product site, the platform also runs variance analysis, traces figures back to their sources and keeps models in a versioned environment.
The commercial mechanism is more specific than putting a chat interface on a spreadsheet. Finance teams rebuild forecasts because the underlying inputs change across several systems and because management needs to understand why a number moved. A product that keeps those definitions, links and revisions together can reduce the repeated work of collecting data while preserving a review trail for decisions presented to executives or boards.
That auditability is central to trust. A fast forecast has limited value if the finance team cannot inspect its assumptions, reproduce the result or challenge an anomaly. Outline says its models are tested through checks and backtesting, while its agents can investigate unexpected movements and return supporting context. Buyers will ultimately judge whether those controls remain reliable as more data sources, entities and collaborators enter the model.
Ten customers are a starting signal
Outline was founded in 2026 by Antoine de Mereuil and Hubert Jaouen. Founders Future describes the company as an agentic FP&A operating system for mid-market businesses, while Journal du Net reports that its SaaS model had attracted about 10 customers within roughly three months of launch.
That early adoption shows finance teams are willing to test a new planning layer, but it does not yet establish repeatable deployment or retention. Outline's next test is whether it can turn customer-specific data connections and models into a product that deploys efficiently without becoming a bespoke implementation service. If it can, each live planning cycle should deepen the context that makes the workspace useful; if not, integration and validation work could absorb the speed gains promised by the agents.
