€13.5m · Series A · Legaltech · Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen-based Pandektes has raised €13.5m in Series A funding to expand its legal-research platform and develop it into infrastructure for other legal technology products. The round was led by Alstin Capital, with PROfounders, Scale Capital and existing investors participating.
Pandektes says more than 500 law firms, companies and public institutions use its platform across Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. The company reports that revenue grew sixfold over the past 12 months and that roughly two-thirds of organisations that trial the product become paying customers. It plans to use the new capital to expand in Europe and North America, grow its team and open more of its legal information infrastructure through an API.
Legal data becomes the product
Legal research is not only a search problem. The underlying work is collecting legislation, court decisions, administrative rulings and regulatory material from thousands of public sources, keeping those documents current and mapping how they refer to one another. Pandektes argues that AI and modern computing can automate more of this continuous collection and classification, reducing the editorial infrastructure that historically protected incumbent databases. Its platform also lets customers connect internal documents with public legal sources, so the value depends on traceable, up-to-date information rather than generated answers alone.
That makes the planned API commercially important. If Pandektes can expose consistently structured legal information across jurisdictions, it can sell both to practitioners using its research interface and to software teams building their own workflows or AI agents. The same strategy raises the execution bar: each new country adds sources, citation structures and update processes that must remain dependable. Alstin's Andreas Schenk framed the opportunity as a market where users have wanted to switch core research systems but historically lacked a viable alternative; the reported trial conversion and customer replacements suggest Pandektes is beginning to test that claim in practice.
The Series A follows a €2.9m seed round announced in February 2025. Tech.eu's funding record puts Pandektes' disclosed financing at €16.4m across the two rounds. The new capital therefore supports a move beyond replacing individual research tools toward becoming a reusable data layer for legal software.
