€2.3m · Seed · Travel · Eindhoven, Netherlands
Eindhoven-based ParkMundo has raised €2.3m in Seed funding, its first external capital after more than a decade of bootstrapped growth. The round combines investment from technology and travel-sector angels with additional financing from Rabobank; the public announcement does not disclose the split between those components. ParkMundo says it will use the capital to improve its technology and customer experience, expand geographically, and scale both its consumer marketplace and partner network.
Founded in 2013 by Jeroen van den Eerenbeemt as Vliegen en Parkeren, ParkMundo lets travellers compare and reserve airport parking by price, location, service type and customer reviews. The company does not operate the car parks itself. Its terms describe ParkMundo as an intermediary between travellers and parking providers, while its platform handles search, reservation, payment and confirmation flows.
From comparison site to embedded travel infrastructure
The company is now taking that supply beyond its own consumer sites. Its business platform lets airlines, online travel agencies and other travel brands add airport parking to booking flows through APIs, white-label products, affiliate links or an agent portal. ParkMundo then provides the parking inventory, real-time products, booking confirmations, reporting and support processes behind the offer.
That model creates a second distribution route from the same supply network. A direct marketplace has to acquire travellers itself; an embedded product can reach customers where departure airport and travel dates are already known. Travel partners gain an ancillary-revenue product without building parking integrations market by market, while parking operators can reach demand from several travel channels through one connection. The commercial test is whether those partner integrations lift booking volume without making service quality harder to control across different parking types, pricing systems and local operators.
A profitable base for external capital
ParkMundo says it remained self-funded and profitable while expanding across 15 countries on four continents. The funding announcement puts its network at more than 850 parking partners and says the platform has facilitated millions of bookings. In a September interview, chief executive Martijn Meeuws described the rebuilt platform as the common layer replacing nine local brands and supporting both consumer and business-to-business distribution.
The company has also appointed Treatwell founder Jan-Willem van Boeckel and former Transavia and Sunweb chief executive Mattijs ten Brink to its board. Their marketplace and travel experience matches the next stage ParkMundo is funding: turning a geographically broad consumer business into infrastructure that other travel sellers can embed. Execution will depend on converting a large supplier catalogue into reliable availability, consistent booking flows and support across partner channels, not simply adding more countries.
