Berlin-based PLACED has completed its first institutional financing, taking the company's funding to about €1.8m. Brandenburg Kapital, Ventic Ventures, Angel Invest, True Growth, Superangels, WorkTech Angels and the Business Angel Club by Board Academy invested alongside unnamed AI and staffing angels. The capital will expand the platform, sales and data technology.
Turning candidate placement into a sales workflow
Staffing firms usually begin with an open role and search for a candidate who fits. PLACED is building for the reverse motion: start with a qualified candidate, read labour-market signals to identify employers likely to need that profile, find the relevant decision-makers and support the agency's outreach with specialised AI agents.
That changes the software's role from maintaining an applicant database to creating placement opportunities. PLACED combines job profiles, skills, salaries, benefits, company contacts and other market signals in one system. Its current product helps recruiters research suitable employers and automate parts of candidate sales; a planned prediction layer is intended to identify demand before a matching vacancy is advertised.
The commercial mechanism is specific to staffing agencies. An unused candidate profile loses value quickly when availability or employer demand changes. If PLACED can shorten the path from a recruiter's candidate knowledge to a credible client conversation, the same recruiter can pursue more relevant employers while preserving time for candidate preparation and advice. The company offers free access and paid plans starting at €299 per month, so value must show up as better sales productivity rather than simply more automated activity.
Prediction quality sets the ceiling
The product depends on two linked judgments: which company is likely to need a candidate, and which contact is worth approaching. Weak signals can create irrelevant outreach and damage an agency's client relationships, while accurate timing can surface demand before competitors react. That makes data coverage, ranking quality and feedback from real placements central to the product, not background infrastructure.
PLACED says it monitors billions of data points and has won a number of customers in German staffing. Brandenburg Kapital's announcement names Franke + Pahl Fachkräfte as one user and quotes its managing director on combining market signals, candidate profiles, contacts and agents in one workflow. Those are company and investor claims, but they show the product being applied inside an established staffing business.
The financing gives PLACED more capacity to deepen that workflow and strengthen distribution. Its next proof point is whether recruiters turn the system's recommendations into repeatable employer conversations and completed placements, especially as the company develops forecasting beyond currently advertised roles.
