London-based PlannerPal has raised £4.3m ($6m) to expand its AI workflow for financial advisers. Mercia Ventures led the round, with existing investor Ada Ventures returning alongside strategic fintech investors and angel backers. The company says the capital will grow its engineering and product teams, accelerate customer rollouts and deepen the client-intelligence layer connecting adviser meetings, documents and systems.
PlannerPal says more than 250 UK advice firms use the platform, including 20% of the country's 20 largest wealth managers, with around £150bn of client assets represented. Named customers include Canaccord Wealth, ValidPath and Amber River. Those figures are company and investor claims, but they point to a product moving beyond isolated note-taking into the operational systems used by larger advice businesses.
Client data becomes the workflow layer
The product supports advisers before, during and after client meetings. It can prepare meeting context, capture conversations, draft follow-up work and structure information for compliance and CRM records. PlannerPal lists integrations with Intelliflo, Iress Xplan, Curo and Plannr, as well as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and SharePoint. The company also says it has expanded into the mortgage market.
The commercial proposition is less about replacing advisers than reducing the repetitive transfer of information between calls, documents and back-office tools. PlannerPal says users save 30 to 90 minutes per meeting. If the integrations hold up across different firms' processes, the platform can improve both adviser capacity and the quality of data flowing into customer records. Deeper workflow integration may also make the product harder to displace than a standalone meeting assistant.
Regulated scaling depends on control
Financial advice puts a higher bar on traceability than general-purpose meeting software. PlannerPal says advisers remain in control of generated outputs, and promotes full audit trails, ISO 27001 certification and UK data residency. Its Ada Ventures portfolio profile frames the company around automating administrative work while preserving adviser oversight.
The funding therefore has two linked jobs: extending the product and making deployment repeatable across firms with different systems, security requirements and compliance processes. Broader CRM coverage can strengthen distribution, but each integration also adds implementation and maintenance work. The next test is whether PlannerPal can turn its foothold in UK wealth management into consistent expansion across larger advice groups and the adjacent mortgage market without weakening the controls that won those customers.
