London-based Platter, which builds operating software for food suppliers, wholesalers and manufacturers, has raised an undisclosed follow-on extension with Verb Ventures joining the company. Tech.eu reported the financing, while Verb Ventures separately said it had invested. Neither source disclosed the size of the extension or a specific use of proceeds.
The extension is separate from Platter’s May 2025 pre-seed, which the company announced as €411k. That earlier round included Startup Wise Guys and angel investors; Verb Ventures is the named investor in the new financing.
One system for orders, operations and cash flow
Platter brings ordering and sales, buyer-specific pricing, stock and production visibility, delivery planning, invoicing and finance into one system. Its website says customers can connect accounting, ERP, logistics and warehouse tools, while Tech.eu reports automated invoice flows into Sage and Xero and an invoice-factoring option intended to shorten payment cycles.
The product is aimed at food businesses whose workflows still cross email, phone calls and spreadsheets. Moving those activities into one record can reduce repeated data entry: a confirmed order can inform production and stock, generate delivery documents and flow through to the invoice. The commercial opportunity is broader than replacing an order spreadsheet. If Platter becomes the operating record for transactions, it can add payments and financing at the point where suppliers already manage orders and receivables.
That breadth also raises the execution bar. Suppliers need product, price and stock data to remain accurate across sales, warehouses, production and accounts; errors in one workflow can travel into the next. Platter therefore has to make integrations and onboarding light enough for smaller operators while building the reliability expected from a system that touches fulfilment and cash collection.
Early traction makes retention the next test
Tech.eu reports that Platter has been live since mid-2025, has onboarded more than 30 customers and is on track to process more than £100m in annual trade. It also reports zero churn and says each customer handles roughly £3m to £10m of annual trade through the platform. These are company-supplied figures, but they indicate that Platter is being tested inside meaningful operating flows rather than as a standalone reporting tool.
Verb Ventures frames the investment around software that becomes operational infrastructure, not simply a support tool. Platter’s team page says its founders bring more than 30 years of food manufacturing, wholesale and technology experience. The follow-on funding gives the company another investor as it develops that position, although the undisclosed amount makes the scale of the new runway impossible to assess.
