$2.7m · Other round · AI · Istanbul, Türkiye
Pulpo, an Istanbul-based developer of AI-powered beauty-commerce tools, has raised $2.7m in a bridge round. RePie Portföy, StartersHub and 14 other investors participated in the financing.
The company’s software lets shoppers virtually try makeup, hair colour and nail products, while its skin-analysis and shade-matching tools recommend products from a photo or live camera. Pulpo says the technology can be integrated into brand websites, mobile apps and in-store smart mirrors.
Turning product discovery into commerce data
Virtual try-on tackles a practical problem for beauty retailers: customers cannot reliably judge a shade or finish from a conventional product image. Pulpo’s model puts its software inside the retailer’s sales journey, where a more confident product choice can support conversion and reduce the risk of a return. The same interaction also gives brands structured signals about which shades and products shoppers explore.
Webrazzi reports that Pulpo works with brands including Sephora, e.l.f. Cosmetics, KIKO Milano, Yves Rocher and Migros. The new capital is intended to support product development and expansion across Southeast Asia, Central Europe and the Gulf, markets where the company will need to adapt its recommendation systems to local product ranges, retail channels and customer needs.
