$17m · Seed · AI · Ghent, Belgium
Ravical, an AI platform for accounting and tax firms, has raised $17m in Seed funding led by MMC Ventures, with existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive and new investor Shapers participating. The company said the capital will support product development, team growth, deeper expansion in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, a wider European rollout and entry into the US. Ravical announced the round on 29 October 2026; it brings total funding to $25m.
Turning partner expertise into a firm-wide operating system
Ravical’s product is built for accounting and tax practices whose valuable judgement is often concentrated in senior staff. It turns a firm’s own methods into shared workflows that AI can apply across the client base, drawing on the firm’s CRM, financial software and databases. The company’s site lists connections including Microsoft 365, QuickBooks, Silverfin, Xero and CCH. The goal is not simply to answer questions faster, but to make review, preparatory work and opportunity spotting repeatable while qualified professionals retain oversight.
That changes the commercial mechanism for a practice. If more staff can prepare specialist work to a consistent standard, senior review becomes less of a throughput constraint and the firm can sell more advisory work to existing clients without increasing headcount at the same pace. Ravical says more than 100 accounting firms across Europe already use the platform. In a customer example supplied by the company, UK firm Gascoynes said tax-planning fees rose 49% year on year, largely from existing clients, after work previously sent to specialists was handled internally. The figure is a customer claim presented by Ravical, but it illustrates the revenue expansion the platform is designed to enable.
A second company for a repeat accounting-software founder
Ravical was founded in 2025 by CEO Joris Van Der Gucht, CTO Ken Bastiaensen and CPO Benjamin Vandermarliere. Van Der Gucht previously co-founded Silverfin, a cloud accounting platform that Ravical says reached more than 1,000 firms across 18 countries. MMC Ventures’ thesis is that accounting AI will move beyond isolated task tools toward firm-wide systems that preserve each practice’s methods and client context. The next test is whether Ravical can carry that model across markets with different tax rules, software stacks and working practices while maintaining consistent review and governance.
