Raxio Group has added $30m in equity from existing shareholders Meridiam and Roha, taking the African data centre platform’s committed capital from $350m to more than $380m.
The Amsterdam-based company operates carrier-neutral, Tier III-certified colocation facilities across Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and Angola, with an expansion into Tanzania under development. Its facilities provide power, cooling, security and interconnection infrastructure for enterprises, cloud providers, telecom operators and content-delivery networks.
Capacity demand is accelerating
Raxio said it contracted six times more power in the first half of 2026 than in the same period a year earlier. The company is increasing rack densities for high-performance computing and AI workloads as it evaluates further expansion across the continent.
The new equity follows a $100m financing package from the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation in 2025, plus earlier debt from Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund. Raxio says the enlarged capital base will support its next phase of growth as customer deployments become larger and more power-intensive.
