Zurich-based Rivero has added Elevator Ventures as a strategic investor to support expansion across Central and Eastern Europe. Neither party disclosed the size or terms of the investment. Rivero plans to keep investing in its payment-operations products and deepen relationships with banks and financial institutions in existing and new European markets.
Turning payment rules into operating software
Rivero sells software for operational work that sits behind card payments. Kajo helps banks manage payment-network compliance by distributing scheme updates, organising fragmented requirements and showing teams which changes need action. Amiko covers disputes and fraud recovery, triaging cases, coordinating next steps and automating workflows while directing complex claims to human specialists.
Both products target processes where institutions still rely on documents, manual hand-offs and specialist knowledge. The cost is not only staff time: missed scheme requirements can create compliance exposure, while slow dispute handling affects recoveries and the cardholder experience. Rivero's commercial proposition is to turn those recurring obligations into SaaS workflows that remain current as network rules and case volumes change.
That makes distribution unusually dependent on trust. A bank is not simply buying another productivity tool; it is placing regulated, customer-sensitive operations into software that must fit existing controls and payment-network processes. Rivero says it already works with banks and payment institutions across Europe, but moving into another region still requires local relationships, security scrutiny and operational proof.
A banking investor as a route into CEE
Elevator Ventures is backed by Raiffeisen Bank International, Raiffeisen-Holding Niederösterreich-Wien and Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark. Its portfolio description positions Rivero as modular SaaS for payment compliance and credit-card dispute management, while its wider network is concentrated in the DACH and CEE financial-services ecosystem. Rivero is betting that this reach can shorten introductions to institutions that understand the same operational problems.
The investment follows Rivero's $7m Series A in 2024, which funded product and market expansion. This new stake is presented primarily as strategic rather than as another priced round, and no immediate RBI customer contract was announced. The useful milestone will be whether investor access becomes live deployments: financial institutions adopting Kajo or Amiko, expanding usage across teams and renewing after the systems have been tested inside day-to-day operations.
