Undisclosed · Other round · Software · Vienna, Austria
signteq, a Vienna platform for digital identity, compliance and legally binding transactions, has raised an undisclosed seven-figure funding round. Investors include Peter Steinberger, Rene Giretzlehner, Bernhard Klemen and FMMS Holding, while existing shareholder Compass increased its investment. The company plans international expansion and identity verification for AI agents.
Machine customers create a new identity problem
KYC and KYB systems were designed to verify people and companies before they transact. Autonomous agents add another layer: a business needs to know which person or organisation authorised the software, what it may do and how its actions can be traced. signteq's proposed “Know Your Agent” product extends its existing identity and signature infrastructure into that chain of permission.
The commercial opportunity depends on integration rather than a new credential alone. Agent identity must connect to access controls, transaction limits and audit records inside customer workflows. signteq already serves regulated organisations, which gives it a route to test those requirements with buyers that cannot accept opaque automation. Expansion will be strongest where compliance becomes part of deployment, not a check performed after an agent has acted.
