€1.7m · Seed · Healthtech · Schweinfurt, Germany
Skillcourt has closed a €1.7m seed round from unnamed European investors with backgrounds in sport and finance. The financing values the Schweinfurt healthtech at €20m. Skillcourt says it will use the capital to accelerate product development, expand its market presence and prepare for an international Series A.
The company combines diagnostics and training in a physical installation that uses LIDAR and 3D depth cameras to track movement. Its exercises put visual, cognitive and motor tasks into the same session, while software records results for therapists, trainers and other professional users. Skillcourt says the system is already used across physiotherapy and rehabilitation, elite sport, military and emergency-response training, and longevity programmes.
Hardware creates a route to recurring data revenue
The product pairs movement-sensing hardware with a trainer app, user management and remote analysis. That makes the installation more than a one-off equipment sale: each site can generate repeat diagnostic and training sessions, giving Skillcourt a basis for recurring software revenue and a growing dataset on cognitive-motor performance.
The company reports hundreds of active installations and rising recurring revenue, but those figures remain company-reported. The commercial test is whether Skillcourt can standardise installation, support and clinical or performance workflows across customer types without the hardware burden growing as quickly as revenue.
International growth must preserve the operating model
Skillcourt’s expansion case rests on one platform serving several markets that buy for different reasons. Rehabilitation providers need measurable patient progress, sports teams focus on perception and decision speed, and longevity programmes sell prevention and continued cognitive performance. A shared hardware and software core can spread development costs across those segments, but sales cycles, evidence requirements and procurement processes will differ.
The seed round therefore funds two linked tasks: improving the product and proving that the same deployment model travels. Preparing for a larger international round will require evidence that new installations produce durable software revenue, not only hardware bookings, and that partners can deliver the system consistently outside Germany.
