London-based SKWKY has closed an undisclosed pre-seed round under the UK's Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme, with participation from unnamed City of London investment professionals. The company was founded by father-and-son team Chris and Jai Twyman.
SKWKY is building an AI-mediated conversation platform that guides two people through opening statements, problem exploration, discussion and resolution. It is initially targeting schools, where it says administrators can use session reports, message timelines and risk indicators to understand conflict while safety controls pause conversations when language becomes unsafe.
The product has to earn trust before scale
Mediation is a sensitive workflow, particularly in schools: the product must create enough structure to help participants move forward without pretending that software can replace safeguarding staff. SKWKY's decision to make interventions, pauses and post-session reporting part of the core product turns oversight into a purchasing feature rather than an afterthought.
That design also shapes the commercial path. Schools need evidence that the system is auditable, privacy-conscious and useful to counsellors before they expand deployment. If pilots generate reliable feedback and outcomes, SKWKY can build a domain-specific data advantage; if reporting creates extra review work or trust breaks, low-cost access alone will not drive adoption.
