Madrid-based Tucuvi, which provides clinical voice AI for patient monitoring and administrative workflows, has secured a €5m investment from Axis, the venture-capital arm of Spain's Instituto de Crédito Oficial, through Fond-ICO Crecimiento. The capital will support international expansion, further development of Tucuvi's AI platform and additional partnerships with hospitals, health systems and pharmaceutical companies.
Clinical voice AI has to fit the care workflow
Healthcare voice agents create value when they turn conversations into prioritised clinical work, rather than simply increasing call volume. Tucuvi's LOLA agent contacts patients using configured protocols, while its dashboard surfaces alerts and tasks for care teams. The company's Class IIb medical-device certification also matters commercially: hospitals must evaluate safety, data handling and clinical accountability alongside labour savings.
International expansion will test how repeatable that operating model is across languages, regulations and hospital systems. The Axis funding can extend integrations and partnerships, but implementation discipline will determine margins. If protocols and workflows transfer between customers, Tucuvi can scale recurring software; if each deployment requires extensive clinical redesign, specialist implementation capacity will set the pace.
