$20m · Other round · Software · Paris, France
French healthcare software company Vocca has raised a $20m Series A led by Norrsken VC, with Heal Capital, Speedinvest, Firstminute Capital and business angels including the founders of Alan and Datadog. The round takes total disclosed funding to $25m and will support deeper scheduling capabilities, more medical specialties and communication channels, and further expansion in the United States, according to lead investor Norrsken.
Scheduling logic is the product
Vocca started with an AI phone assistant for healthcare providers, but its commercial proposition depends on what happens after the call is answered. The software books and reschedules appointments, sends reminders and handles routine requests while connecting to the scheduling systems practices already use. Its engine models the rules of hundreds of examinations and more than 20 specialties, so a patient can be directed to the right appointment rather than merely reaching a conversational front end.
That specificity matters because front-desk automation has two buyers to satisfy. Practice operators want fewer missed calls and less repetitive work, while patients need a request to be resolved correctly without losing access to a human for urgent or unusual cases. Vocca says it now completes 70% of conversations without human intervention on average, rising above 85% among its most mature customers. Those are company-reported figures, but they describe the operational benchmark the new capital must improve as deployments become more complex.
Scale will test the edge cases
Vocca says adoption grew from 2,000 to 15,000 practitioners in a year, across 1,500 practices in Europe and the US, while monthly inbound conversations rose tenfold to more than one million and revenue increased sevenfold. Named deployments include dental, ophthalmology and imaging groups, as well as the Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild. Tech Funding News reports that the company has about 40 employees in Paris and New York and plans to hire 40 more across both cities by year-end.
The expansion case is therefore less about replacing a switchboard than reproducing reliable scheduling across specialties, software integrations and regulatory environments. Vocca separates US and EU production environments and says its infrastructure partners hold SOC 2, ISO 27001 and HDS certifications. As it adds channels and medical workflows, the key execution question is whether the average end-to-end resolution rate can move toward the level of its strongest deployments without pushing more exceptions back to staff.
